So, the time has come. We are getting her painted this year - hopefully going in the booth (for prep work) in the next week or so. I am sure I will have a ton of questions .. but to start -
Paint brand recommendations?
And are all Hatteras's originally Hatteras Off White?

Painting my 1972 43DC

Re: Painting my 1972 43DC
I researched this extensively a couple years ago for my Hatteras 1972 43' DCFB.
My original documentation states:
Hatteras Original Hull and Topsides color was Pettit White Code 101
Bottom original paint was Brand International, Color Blue, code #402
The current Petit is: Hatteras Cream 3208 or Hatteras Off-White 3108
I thought the Hatteras Off-White was not the 1972 color, but came later. In fact, I thought Off-White was termed "1991 Off-White"; so 3208 might be a better match.
The modern, non-Petit transform to the original Petit 101 I found was:
Intrerlux Perfection Paint: [ https://interlux.com/en/us/boat-pain...ish/perfection ]
In the clear: [ //interlux.com/en/us/boat-paint/topcoat-finish/perfection ]
Interlux Cream Code YHS070. I have the image, but would not paste in.
I have been painting with the Interlux YHS070 and the results appear good. It is a better match than the Interlux "Bright White" that I first tried.
Plus it is durable, at least on the Great Lakes.Last edited by spartonboat1; 05-07-2020 at 09:42 PM.
