Stupid BOAT US-need a surveyor WI/IL area

As a surveyor I was trained to treat all surveys the same, no such thing as a simpler insurance survey. If an insurance company found out you were doing less than complete surveys for insurance purposes they would refuse to accept your surveys, as a surveyor you are there eyes when inspecting a vessel. At least that’s how I operate. John

What I dont get is this:
If I am not buying or selling, and if I am a current customer, why wouldn't they simply ask me to send them 100 pictures of the boat to see the condition of it?

I tried today to get a quote from boatus on my 1966 41 TC. They said they dont insure boats over 50 years old.

Who is your insurance co?

If the vessel has not been maintained it could not be seaworthy. I agree here on this forum we all have a love for our vessels wether old or new but people do not always upkeep a vessel.

Several years ago Boat US had a surveyor inspect my boat in the water.

Boat US paid for it.

I've been with Boat US for 40 years, no problem.
