    The 2-stroke oil would be a nice compliment to the Johnson/Evinrude paint

    It's garbage, don't do it! Paint already burnt black after one trip, pretty sure it'll start flaking soon. Failed experiment for sure. On the bright side, it should burn itself off pretty quickly so I can try contestant #2 lol.

    OK, thanks. I cleaned the rusty stuff off and painted it with Rust Bullet a good while back. I think that might be the base you're looking for. While it did turn brown, it still keeps the rust in check. The surface is nice and smooth. So, I might consider that a pretty good primer and look for a high temp white--at some point.

    I have had some luck with good ol' stove black paste on manifolds before. Do have to keep applying it though.

    What specific flavor of rust bullet did you use? The standard is silver, or used to be ?!?
