Broke my Swarovski binoculars on my last trip so no chance (hopefully) there is enough time to get them repaired before we leave Florida.
Suggestions on a replacement pair? Copy that Randy?

Re: Binoculars?
Basics of binoculars.
The larger the front element the more light it can catch so the more efficient at night.
Night vision adds to the capabilities of them at night too.
Cheap crap is useless .
Stabilized binocs are great but I'd have to think about a second set just because.
As a side note.
Randy has 2 of these.Scott

Re: Binoculars?
Sorry you dropped your good optics.
You need a second pair anyway.
Send the fancy ones back for rebuild. Pick up a nice set from West Marine.
I'm on our second set from West and they work great vs dollar.
You will have your Swarovski's back in a few months and learn all about eyes per dollar,, again.
Keep them around your neck and secured in a good tray while moving.
I had a friend drop a good old (very old) pair of Steiners years ago. kept reminding him to keep that strap around his neck.
His wife turned him in. Yep, he paid for a new set..

Re: Binoculars?
I bought a set of Fuji Polaris about 25 years ago. They are amazing. Better than Steiners, which are pretty damn good on their own.
I also have a set of stabil-eyes, which are VERY useful, although not as bright. Spare batteries are important, they use a lot of battery life when they are running.

Re: Binoculars?
Very hard to beat stabilized binoculars. Makes a huge difference on the water. I have the Nikon Stabileyes and take them hunting. They way outperform my Vortex and my buddie's Swarovskis. I find I rarely need to use the spotting scope.

Re: Binoculars?
I bought Vanguard Endeavor ED 8x42 Binocular, ED Glass, Waterproof/Fogproof a few years ago when they had a $50 mail in rebate. Supposedly they have a lifetime don't care what happens warranty (like drive over them)...not sure if that's true.
Anyway, whenever I bring them out, people are always impressed by the clarity, even ship drivers.FTFD... i drive a slow 1968 41c381
