In one of the pictures I thought for a moment you had teak and holly flooring in the engine compartment and I was just going to give up.

I will confess a member of this forum did his generator room floor in epoxy with color chips, complete with the Detroit Diesel logo, and that has tempted me!

    Wow, great job Paul.

We have similar boats... will you connect the AC output to the original Genset #1 AC wiring? Is the new Kohler Genset BOTH 110 and 220 volts AC?

    Cheers,

    Scott.

Scott, Genset 1 is still there and working fine. The genset is field selectable 110/220, but we'll go 220 to the genset 2 position in the panel.
The genset has the capacity to be paralleled and wired to a common BUS, and has autoswitching capability, AFTER talking with the kohler rep, Roger Werthington.. who most of you know, I decided it was more prudent simply to wire it to the second generator position in the panel as Hatteras designed it.

Back together. No extra parts.. added bonus, perfect height and location for a workshop table top.. put a high density rubber mat on top and it will work fine!
