Re: What weather to cross to Bimini?
I have always thought that one can’t be too anchored! As another big anchor captain once told me: “we don’t anchor as much as moor”.

An alternative to Chubb is to anchor at Morgan Bluff, North tip of Andros. I ve done this a few times. Large deep bay with good holding. Great protection from NE thru S and W. Exposed to northerlies.
Or you can anchor of bird Cay (just past Chubb). Go towards shore as much as your draft allows. Bottom shallows up slowly and no coral. Avoid in strong SE winds or northerlies. There is an abandoned estate at the N end of bird which is worth a visit. It s time capsule from the 60s. Lots of stuff inside... from the anchorage you can see some old bungalows and a pier. The house is about 1/4 mile north.Pascal
