I am happy to say I am the new owner of Freedom that has the Ford Lehmans. It is my 2nd Hatteras having owned a 1977 58 EDMY almost 20 years ago. Will post pics as I work through some projects. Richard Williams was the prior owner and hopefully still will be active on the forum. Looking forward to both learning from and sharing with others on this forum.

Re: Ford Lehman engines in a Hatteras
I’ve run both a 36 and 42 Grand Banks with the Lemans. Banks sized the engines to max out the torque curve at 8-9 kts for fuel range and economy. I found the cooling systems to me marginal and while adaquate need to be maintained properly

We had one in a 51' blue water ketch, as finicky as an anvil, and just as reliable. Quiet and smooth too.

You're going to love this boat. Those engines may outlast all of us.
