In situations like this I find a cardboard box and cut it out to the specs of the engine. You can then hold the sides in place in your ER to see what it's really going to be like.
They are going to be considerably heavier than your chryslers. Each engine will weight approx 2k lbs. Your chryslers are probably closer to 1k lbs each.

My dad repowered or 65 34 with 3160’s should be about the same size. The shaft struts were dropped 2” and the engine hatches were raised 2”. We just boxed up the existing hatches and left the center hatches alone for head room. Made a huge diff in the preformeance and dried up the boat. The extra weight gave it a solid ride in a head sea.

330HP Cummins would fit much easier. Below that HP they won't fit due to height as the fresh water cooled intercooler and air pipe are on top. had to modify my engine hatches in my 66 34 to get the 270's in. the earlier boat has a little less room.
