    Solar dock lights

I am looking for recommendations to install solar powered dock lights. I am torn on whether to install on the pylon tops or sides, convince me one way or another.

Oh and for those residing in the sunshine state, I am happy to announce we closed on a new place in Pomano Beach, gotta jump when the market says "look what I have for you."

I like the lights down low and not on the pilings. Here are the ones that my father installed at his place in Florida many years ago. They are very well built and are still going.

I think the best of both worlds would be to get Emily to install the Harbor Freight lights for me.

I looked at several of their products today, I like what I see. I've got some work to do out there before we bring the boat home, the PO used the lift so the other 40' were "neglected". Someone cut the existing dock light power lines right in half under the dock, conduit and all. When I was trying to figure out why they didn't work, I did what every smart man does, I checked that bulb---right???!! Hmmmm, ever heard that ole saying 1/2 second can turn a 30 minute job into a weeks worth??? One twist of the wrist and that hardware was like a stack of crackers headed for my chili.....nothing but crumbs. I got tools so it's ok, little PB blaster, baking soda, vinegar, they'll be corrosive free, what little paint is left might even shine, and I can check that bulb. RIGHT!!!! Mind you, I'm ready to rip the whole thing down and start over but nooooooo, someone INSIST the dock lights work, regardless of the appearance, "I'll just throw some paint on them" says someone. PB blaster didn't work, another twist of the wrist and that SOB just fell right off it's base. "My bad honey, I can't let it just hang there so I need to cut these wires and let's "shop" for some new lights. My 1/2 second turned a single minute job into a days, all's well, that ends well. I'll update on light choice as we make it.
