Yep, both generators feed off a common RACOR.

Far fetched or not, PO insisted he experienced the same symptoms unless the inactive fuel line was closed.

Will advise whether that was all it was.

Update -
(Still scratching head)

Replaced both primary and secondary fuel filters
Replaced impeller
Replaced low pressure fuel transfer pump
Switched Racor 3 way valve so just the 20kw is being fed.

Still busted. Not maintaining steady RPM. Suspect it's the governor or HP pump.

Anyone know a good ONAN guy in Ft Lauderdale? Pascal - Who's the Miami guy?

Hired a pro. Problem was a bad over rev shut off switch. Bypass switch and it runs great.

Now the trick is to find a replacement switch. Have not called Cummings yet but not optimistic.
