    Is it the muffler?

My port engine exhaust belches water in spurts rather than a steady flow. Is this an indication of a bad muffler? Thanks in advance.

Bob, mine does the same thing while at idle. Once I get it up to speed it flows out.

I wonder if a slight list could contribute to this because the list might enable some extra back up on one side. Nothing unusual based on our experience.

Here’s s link to a previous discussion, https://www.samsmarine.com/forums/sh...605#post345605 I don’t know for sure but I think the dip in the exhaust hose pictured is the cause of the burping.

makes me feel better to hear all have the port exhaust burp! I have asked several mechanics and we all scratch our heads...... This is a great forum.

My boat does the same thing and has for 25 years. I never worried about it when I bought is 15 years ago.
