    43c 1981 Rubrail Issue

    Looking to purchase but the boat has some issues on the starboard rubrail. Appears to be some slight separation at the joint? Is this to be expected? Can anyone share how these joints were assembled at the factory?Thanks.

    Up until late 70’s the ones I worked on were thru bolted and glassed over on the inside. I think the stainless trim was screwed on. You can push it in if you hit it on a piling hard enough but it would usually leave cracks in the glass.

    Thanks for the info. Could I then assume the gap where it appears there is caulking that has failed is more or less functioning as "filler"?
