Re: Rocna Anchor on a 75

Just purchased the Vulcan 55, are you guys using a swivel? Mantus has a 20% sale on everything right now. I had planned on a Mantus anchor but decided on the Vulcan instead.o I will use their bridle and swivel. Just couldn’t bring myself to buy the bling one so I bought the galvanized version Vulcan.

I had plans for a Vulcan for my 86 52c, but the Mantis Easter promo had me thinking. 40 or 55kg for a 52? Great thread, Thanks

JD5652, did you have to notch the stainless steel plate?

You're going to want to move that shackle to between the swivel and the anchor so you don't side-load the swivel. That's how they break.

I'd hate to lose that anchor. The swivel is always the weakest link. I don't/won't use one.

Yes I did... I used a grinder and made several notch cuts and then either cut each one off or hand worked it until it came off. Used the grinder the best I could to "smooth" out the cut.... but it's tight quarters....

Now that I look at it and "think" about how the shackle and swivel would move... it TOTALLY makes sense.... THANKS!
