I am assuming there should be a switch or breaker for the dc fresh water pump.
1980 53 MY.
I can't find one for the life of me.
Can anyone tell me where a switch or breaker would be located?
Thanks!

Possibly a fuse in the (Port?) DCv power box.
Have you factory print sets onboard?

You would be impressed with the fuses in those boxes.
I do not recall a pump fuse in the ones I work on, but if you don't have a breaker for it, That is where I would look.
On the 56 and others we worked, there is a DCv breaker panel in the for / port ER. More port than the big DCv box. I do not recall the 53s having this extra DCv breaker box.
The print set will help the best.

Re: DC fresh water pump switch / breaker location?
Is it 32 volt pump or has a PO put in a 12 volt pump that is being run by a 32 to 12 converter. That is how I set mine up, lot more choices for 12 volt DC. Pumps than 32 volt. My 32 volt DC pump did have a breaker on the main panel.

Sadly, since Pentair has taken over the Shurflo product line, The 32Vdc pumps seem to have disappeared in their product line...

If you can find a high volume 32Vdc pump still on anybodys shelf, I would advise you to pick it up as a 32Vdc spare.
We have these on our 32Vdc Bertram. What a wonderful pump. first one lasted 16 years. We picked up 2 for replacement and a spare.
The original got wet, that pump is still in hand as a backup/backup pump.
As for a 32 to 12Vdc converter, WOW...
That's a lot of current to draw from a DCv to DCv converter. I would rather draw 24Vdc from the 3rd battery.
Back to the OP. Have you found your fuse or breaker yet?
Have you measured or verified the lack of DCv at the pump?Last edited by Captain Ralph; 07-17-2022 at 10:48 AM.
