    Bottom paint sticker shock

After 4+ years here on the gulf coast of Fl. It is time for bottom paint on my 43DCMY.
Price quotes are in th $60 to $80 per ft. range. About 50 percent more than previously.
Is this what anyone ele se in Fl is getting ??

Incl haul out, pressure wash, block and launch ?

That s high for a boat that size... under $50 in Miami all incl. I paid $59 a foot all inclusive for an 84 footer a year ago (bigger lift required some more $) also Miami

Try Snug Harbor in Madeira Beach. Good as long as that's all you need during haul out. OK with minor simple repairs but trim tab install on my 34 baffled them. Had to do it myself. But they do a very good bottom job at fair prices.

That's a good price if the work was good. I just did Aslan in May for all inclusive $70/Ft which came to $3873. We have a lot less competition around Charleston for sure. It's worth something to stay local to inspect the work as it progresses. Of course, I could go to Lauderdale and pay your price. It probably would've worked out to $95-100/Ft. adding in the costs of getting her there and back and maybe some bread and water twice a day and three times on Sunday. Maybe I'll vacation in sunny Ft. Lauderdale in another three years or so.

I didn't know you could pay someone to do the hull. Down here everyone does it themselves. Its a job. I spent about $1,700 on zincs, paint and lift fees. Thats about $31/LF. I would have gladly paid $2,500 to let someone else do it. Our yard is mostly fishing or shrimp boats.

I did book with Snug Harbor for $70 per ft. $1350.00 haul and labor
And aprox $1350.00 for 4 gal. paint. And $220 tax.
The only local DIY yard was 2+ month waiting list and required paint purchased from them.
Plus insurance naming them. And $40 per day.
Not complaining, I do not expect it to be inexpensive to enjoy this lifestyle !!
