Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... yeah... sure ...

So... after a sloppy run from MIA, I pull up to drop the hook at Staniel Cay Big Major... pretty quiet, plenty of space. As a classic Hatteras owner, as a classic Alfa Romeo owner, as a Jaguar E -type owner... aesthetics are important to me...

So I drop the hook far enough so I don’t have to see these two “things” too close. I have no idea what #1 is but it’s just awful... at first I thought there was a Skylounge MY rafted up on the other side but no, it is one boat...

And then I take the binocular and realize that this thing has a Hatteras logo on it! I think both Jack Hargrove and Willis Slane are spinning in their graves...

They don’t even look like boats. What happened to their lines?

Better angle but still something wrong with the proportions. It needs another 10’ of “bow”. Too stubby.

Agreed. Is that the 75 or the 90 Panacera? Somehow looks a lot better on the Hatteras website!

Looked fairly small. Had to be the 75

I guess building a boat people will buy trumped your style requirements.

Not that its something I think is pretty but a company has to build boats for customers.

Maybe the bee holder or beer holder. Otherwise no beauty seen here.

And if you think our motor yachts have a lot of freeboard look at how much those things have, like 7 feet in the engine room alone. John

If you want good looking, practical boats that you can actually use and aren't just designed to sit at the dock and look "modern", then you have to look at the trawlers you see in any Passagemaker magazine. The kind that have windows that slide open, railings that are made to keep the passengers from falling overboard, pulpits with the capability to hold more than one anchor, etc.
