Does anyone know what the original fuel tanks are made of for the above vessel? Are they fiberglass or metal? Trying to sell her and apparently fiberglass tanks are a deal breaker. Thanks!

Re: 1966 41’ TC Fuel Tanks
They are fiberglass and only a deal breaker if gas powered. Diesel is not an issue.

Re: 1966 41’ TC Fuel Tanks
Most old Hatteras yachts with diesels are using their old tanks with no problem. It's the ethanol in the gasoline fuel that damages the tanks, and then the engines; the fuel systems clog. Mine are nearly fifty years old (1971) and they are fine. So far, LOL.

Tanks are fiberglass. If gas the ethanol will ruin them. If Diesel no problem.

If the engines are gasoline the fiberglass tanks would be a deal-breaker for me as well but if diesel the tank would be a definite positive.
