I've had two boardings over the years. One in Hampton Roads, the other off of Frankfort, Michigan. Both times they were very thorough and professional. If I have to put up with that to also have them available should I ever be in peril, then I'm all for it.

Bizarre Encounter Between A "Captain" & USCG
Like others, I have been boarded a few times as well, twice for a random safety inspection and once to see if i was drinking(we had 12 quests on board and they were obviously intoxicated and having too much fun). I was alone on the fly bridge that time but they still wanted to check. It didn't bother me any of the times. Treat them with respect and let them do their job and, well you know, the World is round. What goes around comes around.
Hard work pays off in the future.
Laziness, pays off now!
