    Hynautic needs hydraulic oil

After 8 years the level is getting low. No detectable leaks that I’ve found.

There are two caps on the reservoir. Anyone have instructions for adding fluid?

Open top. Pour in fluid to desired level. Put cap back on and repressurize.

There should be no need to bleed if done properly.

Unscrew the cap with the schrader valve on it and fill. Then tighten and repressurize.

    What should the pressure be?

Pressure of about 20 psi is normally Ok.

You need enough pressure to push fluid tomthe FB helm. Usually as little as 10/15 psi is enough

Oddly enough since i had both helm pumps rebuilt on my 53, it takes 35 PSI to keep th system primed. No idea why... it used to stay primed with 10 psi...

Are you sure ALL air is out? Sounds like you may need that pressure to keep some trapped somewhere?
