Always heard about lead weight Hatteras used to level boats at the factory. Here's a couple photos what we found in our 46C. Turned out to be 400 pounds of it. Boat sits level and about an inch or two higher in the front now after removing it.

Re: Lead Weight
What about ride?
Who cares how a boat sits. There may be a reason to put weight forward for the ride angle.Scott

Re: Lead Weight
You guys make some good points on stability and ride.
In this case removing the weight was a good thing, the boat now sits level on the pitch and roll axis. Before she listed to the left after the addition of a tackle station and accumulation of "stuff" over the years. The weight was located in the master between the bed and hull just in front of the engine room bulkhead.1984 Hurley 36 Express sold
