Said to be 9% more efficient than existing designs, it may be interesting to see who’s boats are the first to offer them. http://www.sharrowengineering.com/

I’ve seen those on line. Looking forward to see who’s using them.

Imagine what's involved in trying to repair/recondition one of those.

Re: Something new (to me) in propellers
i'd like to change my pitch lol. Gonna have to be a special kinda prop shop lol.
While they may be great for smaller boats, it just doesn't look beefy enough for an offshore environment. Imagine hitting a log/floating debris with that? I bet it would mangle it where as a standard nibral prop would just dent/dingSOUTHPAWS

The company claims they are stronger and capable of going on any vessel of any size. It will be interesting to get some hard facts to back the claims.

It's hard enough to get my diver to clean both sides of 3 blades properly. I see a real world 15% drop in efficiency.

Re: Something new (to me) in propellers
Correct me if I'm not wrong, but it looks like something that belongs on top of a Christmas present vs pushing a boat. I'm sure it performs well in a test tank, but under ambient conditions I would bet that the first time it encounters anything tougher than a Man-o-War it'll have to be sent back to the factory to be re-tuned.
