    Re: Aft bulkhead repair/replacement

A friend of mine had a 36C similar to mine and did that aft bulkhead jihad. Not an easy job.

    Re: Aft bulkhead repair/replacement

Most of the bulkhead is finally gone. Now it's down to a lot of grinding to remove the few bits that are hanging on and prep for new tabbing. there was a lot of compromised material, although some of it was minor and would have been unnoticeable if we hadn't cut the whole thing out.

One thing I have to say is even without a bulkhead, nor during removal did I see any indication of anything moving or changing shape. They built these hulls really solid.

While we are in here, does anybody know what that piece of PVC above the stbd exhaust is for? It's definitely original because it is tabbed to the fuel tank and had to have been done at the factory before the cockpit tub was installed. It runs from just forward of the bulkhead and dead-ends at the transom.

My guess is it's to be connected as a drain if the icemaker option is ordered.

    Thoughts?
