My glass relief valve is on my pressure tank is leaking through the pit cock. Does anyone know where I can buy a complete new replacement? Also my tank pressure reads 140 PSI. Should it be higher?

Re: Pressure tank glass relief valve
Yes it is. I found them on line but I think they are used. I’ll find that out Monday. It looks like the company is no longer in business. I found some replacements but I would like to keep it original if possible. I’d love to get yours, Thanks John. When are you leaving?

Re: Pressure tank glass relief valve
That is not a pressure relief. It is a sediment and water separator. You can buy at most industrial supply stores. Grainier, etc. Looks like a Parker. Normally there would be a pressure regulator before that quick disconnect. 140 psi seems quite high for your system. I would turn that down to 100psi or so.
Thanks,
Tony

Re: Pressure tank glass relief valve
Thanks Tony. Once I put the replacement in I’ll lower it. The unit shows 150 PSI. I had not adjusted it. I thought that might be the factory setting.

Re: Pressure tank glass relief valve
Get something like this. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-4-Pressur...AOSwYHxWH9XjIt has a pressure regulator built it. Also has the metal safety shroud around the bowl and a petcock drain system. Pay attention to the air flow direction arrow when installing. The one in the link is 1/4” NPT. Can’t tell what yours is from pic. The air compressor is mainly for your air horns and to be able to connect a hose for air tools and filling beach toys. I ran my 5 trumpet air horns at 120 psi and they worked fine. The lower the pressure, the easier on the compressor.
Thanks,
Tony

Re: Pressure tank glass relief valve
LOL. Reminds me of a friend who has a house boat on a big lake somewhere in Tennessee.......Put a train horn on the thing. Once in a while he'll post a time on FB that he's going to blow the thing and all his buddies go outside at that time..... The record is 5 miles. Not sure what pressure he runs on that. Probably more than 120psi..... Everyone on board has plugs AND muffs and stands on the back deck....
