Re: Pressure tank glass relief valve

Can anyone tell me how to lower/adjust the pressure setting on my compressor. As mentioned it builds to 160 PSI on the holding tank and I’d like to lower it to your recommendations of 100 to 120 PSI. Please help if you can. Thanks in advance.

I’ll add photos when I get there, however it is the one that is on the motor and was original to the boat.

Turns out it’s the Bendix D2 Air Governor. I’ll be changing it out next week.

You adjust the tank pressure (which is controlled by when the compressor engages and unloads) by adjusting the air governor. Yours probably is operating fine. You remove the cap and adjust out the screw/bolt to lower the pressure.
