Thread: New Bern

    New Bern

Anyone heard from anyone in New Bern? I saw 10 ft surge and lots of flooding this morning. On the Hatt Facebook page they have provided some space for Fountain Power Boats. Knit Wits and Hatterascal were brought inside. Those sheds must be pretty strong!

The eye hit land in wrightsville beach. Im not sure how hard its hitting them but I know my dads 31 express is there. I hope.

The news says most evacuated. Hopefully no loss of life.

    Re: New Bern

The problem is the surge in the sounds and rivers. So far none of the tide stations from moorehead to myrtle are reporting any significant surge. None of the weather stations along the shore are reporting anything greater than 60kts sustained.

    Re: New Bern

Surge has peaked at high tide in Wrightsville beach about 3' above normal which isnt too bad

New bern is a mess... with winds out of the south east the marina is exposed to a long fetch. Sad sight, i doubt any of these boats are going to make it with hours of pounding yet to come

New Bern is getting hammered with the rising water. Lots of friends and family there along with real time Facebook updates.

In that 1st video that looks like a 70 motor yacht and to the right is another Hatt motor yacht maybe a 58. Hope they make it but it doesn’t look good especially as slow as the storm is moving. John

That 70 foot Hatt looks like she is taking the swells in stride. The pier.....not so much.
Looking for a 80 plus foot yacht
