My Wesmar 24 volt motor seized up. It lasted 24 years so I'm happy with the longevity. Is it possible to replace the motor while in the water or would this need a haul out?

Re: Wesmar bow thrusters
My Wesmar stern thruster can be removed without needing a haul, I imagine the bow thruster would be similar in design. Looking at my bow thruster, it sure seems like it is possible.

Ron, looking at mine it appears you can just remove and replace the motor. The shaft has a seal the makes it waterproof. To confirm call Wesmar direct with the model you have.

Yes. I replaced my bow thruster motor a few years back while in the water. Remove the cable bolts, a few bolts that attach to the top of the saddle mount to motor connection and it pulls right off. The hardest part is standing on your head for an hour.
Best regards,
