    Core thickness

Can anyone tell me the thickness of the core material on the bow of my 1969 45 foot sport fish and the thickness of the back deck?

    Re: Core thickness

I have a partial case of the 1" material. (Baltec) I think they are 2 ft x 4 ft. If anyone needs it you can have it for 30% of the going price..... Less than full sheets will be free of charge if you buy the rest.

P.S. Must be picked up.... I don't want to be bothered with shipping.

If you are close to Massachusetts I am interested. I want to do these repairs after Labor Day and would like to pre order the material is the thickness standard or did it change boat to boat?

    Re: Core thickness

Our 1966 50c has 3/4 inch balsa in the front deck.
Unfortunately we had to replace 18" - 24" perimeter around the outside that got wet.
Used foam instead of balsa, balsa is a little cheaper than foam but I only like to do a repair once.
Can't help with the back deck coring, all good on that front.

Thank you, I have a good amount to do so balsa for most then foam at the cleats makes much more sense.

    Re: Core thickness

On my 36C the core is about an inch. But I don't know if they used the same construction schedule for the bigger boats. Most likely they did, but I don't know for a fact.

My 1967 34C is 3/4" thick I know from experience

If you don't want to spend a lot for foam use Nida core
