Before I put the damper housings back on I was going to vacuum out and run a magnet around the inside of the blower intakes to pick up any debris that might have made its way in when I took them off.

There should not be any debris in the blowers because you surely must hve covered the inlet with cardboard and tape the instant the intake horns were removed.

I didn't use cardboard and tape but I did cover them immediately after the damper housings were removed. Since there is only about 6' - 8" of clearance between the top of the engines and the salon floor there is always the possibility that a few paint flakes or dust might have fallen in as I removed the housings despite my best efforts to clean them off before I moved them. That is what the vacuum cleaning would be for and the magnet in case I knocked any rust loose in the process of removing them.
