First off we are all hoping you guys in Fl. Are ok. We were leaving San Diego for a 65 mile trip to Newport Beach in pea soup fog, visability about 50 feet. Running totally on radar and chart plotter. As the fog lifted a little we saw a small, maybe 80 feet, navy stealth boat about 1/4 mile away going really fast, never saw a thing on the radar and as they passed I put the scale down th 1/2 mile still saw nothing but I did see a line on the radar that was there wake which was huge. I guess that technology works but in the fog it scares the hell out of you as you are completely relying on them to see you and we all know how well that had been working lately. John

Re: Navy stealth boats
Sounds like you had the potential to become another collision for 2017 for the Navy. Now you know what the merchant ships feel like.
