    And on all modern boats you have underwater exhaust which sometimes can also be sucked in the wheels...

    I experience some cavitation in following seas with my Naiads. The first time it happened, I thought I might have a strut loose. I pulled every hatch in a panic until I realized what was going on.

    It isn't cavitation. It is just ventilation and though you might feel a rumble now and then, it is harmless to the props.
