    Old Kohler Generator Parts

Does anyone have a good supplier for old Kohler Generator Parts?

We need a new thermostat for the generator.

    We have a 1981 Kohler Model 20ROP63
    Spec# 13354B
    Ser# 093644

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

The Kohler parts can be very tough to find. Kohler only made the generator part and it likely has a Perkins diesel (Model 4.154) and it is often easier to find parts for these (since they are still on old tractors and such).

    Check out:

Tacoma Diesel around here has helped us out before. I do agree that looking up the Perkins 4.154 parts may be a good option as well.

    Thank you for the suggestions.

I'll let you all know how it gets solved.

You can certainly find a new thermostat. After years of doing this, I always worry when folks blame a thermostat for engine overheating. Certainly it can be the cause, but more often there is something else causing the trouble. Let us know!

Jon, there is a shop called Marine Emporium in Bethel Island California. They cut up boats weekly and sell off all the used parts. I do not have their number but it's listed. PS put some photos on your profile. Would love to see your layout.

    Re: Old Kohler Generator Parts

JonI just wanted to give you and everyone else an update. The yard ordered the thermostat from the website you suggested. They shipped it out from the UK, the yard installed it and the generator is now working. The yard had tested the old thermostat and confirmed it was bad. Thank you again very much. Yeah, buddy! Glad to hear.

Ours has been chugging along as well. They seem to be survivors!
