I wasn't born too late, but I never had the chance to see the original lineup. I've seen the JVZ version live, and while they've always been good, none of their new stuff approaches that of the original band's material. I never get tired of listening to it and still can't help but wonder what we missed had Free Bird not hit the ground. Never will forget that day.

I don't know what year it was sometime in the 80's I saw them at the Spectrum in Philly. The old man was with them and they played a clip of Allen Collins in a wheelchair at the Miami hospital. Thank god, for Freebird they just put Ronnies hat on the Mike stand for the song.
