    Needed, Onan 6500 gas generator

I need a replacement onan 6500 gas generator or someone to rebuild mine. It has a bent valve and
we took it out of our 36 Hat convertible. I have a used generator for parts. Any suggestions?

Those opposed piston Onans are very obsolete and it's difficult to get parts.

It might be time to consider a newer replacement.

I agree. It would probably cost you less to keep your eye on CL and B&H and find a used one. And even if you rebuilt the old one completely, at the end of that project you'd still have an obsolete generator that you'd sunk a lot into and you'd still need to get parts for it from time to time, etc. Kohler in particular and Westerbeke make some nice gasoline sets, see if you can find one of those.
