Lots of access panels screwed into place with plastic caps, lexan panels, Wire run step overs on the bridge, metal latches etc. They're well built for fishing but not as nicely finished off from a cruising stand point. The Post will have the roomiest interior of the 50's but don't rule out one of the repowered 52 Hatts I sent. Great running boats with a lot of space.

I know I said it before BUT 50 is my limit. lol. For real this time. This is the biggest boat that they allow in the marina. It is a small private marina.

If you are serious about the Davis go to the hulltruth, do a search 47' Davis. Lots and Lots of variation with these boats thru their production run. Take your time, read carefully and thoroughly research. I was a partner in a 61' Davis, as stated lots of pluses and negatives.

If it's that bad then I'm not interested. Sounds like a hit or miss.

What do you guys think about Ocean Yachts? I have been doing some research on them and they seem to be a pretty decent boat. Not a top tier but a lot of boat for the money. Sure the ride is not going to be on the same level but cruising at 26 burning 37gph is tempting. lol.

There also is one with QSM motors: http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1990...s#.VuMmHDH2bIU

They seem like a good bit of boat for the money and they are quite "updated" in styling for older boats. What say you?

NOOOOOO!!!! Lol. Your right as far as styling and you get a lot for what you pay. They are the best bang for the buck in the industry BUT you will notice the difference compared to what you've been looking at the moment you jump down off the dock and onto the deck. They're pretty but the fit and finish isn't very good. Reminds me of the difference between an mid quality RV compared to a yacht. Also, they are very corky in the water while drifting and very drum like, flexy, and stiff/pounding when running. I've been docked next to them and they're rocking around in the slip while my boat sits flat calm. The new boats are much better, but not in the same class as some of your other options. They are good looking though.

Take a look at this 47 POST, a 50 is better but this seems to be a good deal. Similar styling, much better quality then anOcean, and repowerd with QSM11's

I just talked to one of the brokers that I know and he basically stated the same thing. They aren't junk but not near the quality or ride of the other boats. I'll just scratch them off the list then. That post is nice. A bit more than I want to spend but something to consider. I am trying to keep the boat under 200 if I can at this point as the amount of charters needed per month to offset costs dramatically increases with price. With this being the third boat I don't want to extend the budget too much.

Cummins boat is preferred. At least to me it is. Antway here is a MAN powered one in your neck of the woods

And a Detroit Powered one in Cape May. My only issue is 625HP is alot of stress on a 6V92. Mine are only 550HP and most are 535HP
