How Many 53' Hatteras were manufactured?

I'm just curious because I've heard a wide range of numbers. Does anybody know how many were made? My Hull number is 53MY704. (a 1983 Extended Deck). Does the 704 mean anything? Thanks.

Another question is how many 58 yacht fish were built?

For those HOF members thart have the 40 DC (series 1) model made betweeen 1986 to 1989 here are the stats:

There were 86-40DC built between the years 1986-1989. My boat was the 77th 40DC built during this time.

Ours is "302" (HAT53MY302) number 2 off the blocks, which was 1 of the first three built in High Point in 1969. I believe the later series was built in New Bern.

According to Pascoe "over 600" 53 MY and C were built.

I don't know the number for the 58 yacht fish. To the best of my knowledge, 349 53 Motor Yachts were built. Meaning 250ish were the 53 Convertible...

There is a 53 MY listed on YW that desc says is second to last one off the lot.

The hull number has nothing to do with the number produced.
