Why remove an engine. They're the ballast for the condo.

Seriously I hope he fixed the bad one first. No reason to do all that work to a barge.

Well on the mechanical side the 8V71Ns will have to come out and be replaced by factory reman 6cyl cummins so yes I am making the counter extensions removable...

It wil still be a 3 stateroom boat as the space currently used by the galley will eventually be converted into a stateroom. It will be only two heads though as both forward SR will share one. For us it is a good compromise as we get a much nicer forward Sr

Re: New galley up construction underway

So you're combining the two aft staterooms, making a new stateroom in the old galley/dinette area and rearranging the bunks, but that will still be a stateroom. I see, said the blind man..

Which engines are you getting? 450Cs?

Also, does this change your air conditioning requirements? I'm not familiar with the A/C layout of a 53, but does this mean combining or redistributing units?

Re: New galley up construction underway

I m looking at the 220hp 6BT. All I want is hull speed Cruise

I have a 12k btu in the master which will be marginal for larger state room. It could work if I keep the air handler from the midship which is shared with the bow stateroom on one condensor although I want to send some cool air in the new head. the third staterom (old galley) will get the existing split air handler from the bow and the bow stateroom will get the dedicated 9k btu I had added to the galley a couple of years ago.

New fridge is in, went with a counter depth made in America Whirlpool with bottom freezer drawer. A little more than teh equivalent Samsung made in red china but worth it...

    Also got the convection/microwave installed.

Wood piece at the bottom. Space is tight at the top so no chance of it tipping out

Try T&S Marine in Crisfield MD, great prices on Cummins engines. Nice guys, too.

Bummer. 450Cs would be nice power for a 53MY.

The appliance install looks nicer than my kitchen.
