    Gulf of meheco this morning

The gulf looked flat today as we ran down to Key West. The water was great but lobster pots were everywhere, thick as hair on a dogs back. Some rope was under the water so I couldn't see till it was too late. They must have had 50 ft bouy lines on the traps. It was a real navigational nightmare. I pulled the gears in neutral but it was too late, and fouled a prop. I shut the engines down and jumped in the water with my filet knife. Easy work but hard climbing back on the swim platform with my dingy flipped up on there. Luckily the water was calm. I don't know how I would have managed if it was 1-3 ft seas. Anyways we are tucked in the Key West Bight marina for a couple nights to charge batteries, take on water and pump out. Now if I could just get out of here before all that wind makes it down. I really need to go hawks channel back up to fort pierce.

Sorry about this picture. I must have done something wrong. It's fuzzy.
