    Sound Box Thumb Screws

I need six thumb screws for my Northern Lights Generator's sound box. The NL part number is 00-78213. The best price I can find is $17.17 each from RPM Diesel. Northern Light's price is even higher. Does any know of a cheaper source?

    Thanks,

They do not list prices on their website so I sent the Tampa distributor an email a few days ago but have not heard back. This appears to be the one.

I just heard from the Southco distributor. $2.10 each. Min order 100.

    I only need 6.

    Anyone but me need some?

That's one $35 each for the six you need. I bet the local hardware store (if one exists in your area) may be able to get smaller quantities.

Those are similar to the screws that hold my vent cover on the AC returns in my house. Check Lowes or Home Depots specialty drawers in the nut & bolt section.

Up to you but I replaced a load of mine with #12 or #14 X 3/4" Phillips pan head screws with nylon washers. They fit the threads fine, don't vibrate undone and don't catch on your clothes every time you have to get around the genny. Oh' and they don't rust either.

    Colwyn,

Great minds, eh? I am using #14 x 3/4 now in place of the 6 I need. This is no big deal but I really like things to be as they are supposed to be. There is a name for that and it is a body part.
