For 8V71TIs, The DD Service manual recommends the use of an engine descaler and flushing. If I use the DD two part engine descaler, do I have to reverse flush it with compressed as shown in the manual, or after neutralizing, can I fill it, run it and empty it multiple times to achieve the same thing. Really seems tough to remove the water pump and make hoses to fit and where do I get a "flushing gun"?
Thanks,
Doug Shuman

Re: DD engine flush & descaler
It is extremely important to get ALL of that stuff out of there.
Neutralizing it, then LOTS (like 10+) flushes with fresh water should be ok.
Drain at the bottom of the exhaust manifolds, the block drains, the water pump elbow and the oil cooler. Those are the low points. Do not attempt to only use one or two of them - use them all, as water will be trapped in some of those places if you don't.

Re: DD engine flush & descaler
Karl,
Thanks. I will. I just don't have a flushing gun, air hose, special couplings, etc.
