That's not in nearly as bad shape as some of the stuff that Q has had to revive on his boat. You can still see what that was made to be.

    HA! Thanks Jim! LOL

    Dazed338, that's a real beaut!

Pretty much every day I'm on the boat now, something ugly, like aluminum framing or spray foam insulation, is getting covered with pretty mahogany plywood or solid stock. I wrapped up the starboard side plywood in this post and am starting to work with 1/4" thick mahogany boards that were leftovers from the toe rail when I resawed the 8/4 boards. I'm very glad I kept those pieces.

I cut and fitted the 1/4" mahogany boards I'm using to cover the window surround aluminum framing on the aft deck. The starboard side is done and looking pretty nice.

I'm a bet tempted so see it splash in person, that would be the icing on the cake.

    You're not the only one!

Things have been nuts here lately. I haven't had time to post a blog article. Today's post is about some mahogany work I did on the starboard side of the aft deck. It's nice to have more of that spray foam insulation and aluminum framing covered with pretty mahogany. It still needs to be varnished, but you get the idea where I'm going with it.

It's sort of ironic, you are developing skills which will only be useful in restoring another boat. Since carpentry work on land is a bit easier, you will learn all this stuff and then (with luck) not have to use it again. So it goes.... but you'll have the queen of the fleet to show for it.

There's a 36 ft (I think) aluminum Roamer up at Smith's, saw it this morning.
"Aluminum Falcon".... I didn't name it, not my fault. LOL

Looks like it's going in before too long.
