Re: 1969 Chris Craft Roamer 46 refit

Well, the missus says she wants to remodel the kitchen, and I've found aluminum and stainless welding skills are useful all over the place. Varnishing skills, too. Either way, I'm never, ever doing this again.

A 53' Bluewater in good running and driving condition, with one brand new 3208, just sold for $10k at my club. The old owner fell getting off the boat and broke a rib, and that's it...he's done boating.

It's times like this that the depth of my insanity hits home...

With the aft deck walls coming together nicely, I got to work on the transition from walls to the deck. I considered using quarter round, but ended up making some crazy zig-zagging boxes to enclose the transition areas on the port and starboard sides.

    Thanks, Vincentc.

It's been a while since I posted a blog article or done anything remotely resembling entertainment. Dealing with corrupt government officials and a wrongful termination complaint (and looking for new employment) are all very time-consuming and depressing. I finally figured I need something to take my mind off all the nonsense, so I posted a new article on varnishing those mahogany boxes and other bits from the last article three months ago.

They turned out pretty nice! [beware...wood porn below and at the link]

Looks great, I started using Mirka discs when I read about them here, and VERY glad to see you back.

Re: 1969 Chris Craft Roamer 46 refit

    Thanks guys!

I should have posted something as a heads-up, but I got buried with discovery and had a legal obligation to thoroughly respond. The preliminary investigator's report ran 1,000 pages and came to now conclusions; it simply summarized the various claims made by all parties. The gatekeepers above the principle investigator took 1.5 business days to conclude there was nothing they could do, despite me providing dozens of pieces of evidence demonstrating my managers repeatedly, knowingly, and willingly violated a particular law that has, in recent years, been used to put political targets in prison.

If you ever hear some loon yammering on about the Deep State and how laws only apply to little people, and that the swamp is packed with people who lied when they took their oaths of office, who'll do whatever they can to help their comrades...that's actually the absolute truth, I've learned.

    deep breath

    So...how's boating this summer? LOL

I saw that...was tempted to open a betting pool on how the survey goes and how many more years it'd be before you finally buy a freakin' boat.
