Correct Gearbox ratio for 43' running 6V92s ?

Hello all , I am a proud co-owner of a 1982 43' Hatteras in New Zealand and we have just landed a couple 6V92s with 2-1 ratio gearboxes , apparently the originals were 1-5 ??
Any comments would be appreciated !

Originals were probably 1.5 to 1, but the 2 to 1 should work fine too. You'll just need to get the right props.

Prop size, shaft size and ratio are all connected. You need to look at the package not individual parts.

If you have enough shaft you're probably better off with the 2-1 than 1.5 -1.
