My friend just bought a silverton motor yacht. When he flushes the forward head it brings in salt water and waste from the holding tank. Is this possible and is there a common place to look or a common part that fails. He doesnt know what type of toilets they are. All I know is they are electric salt water flushers.
I was on the boat last night and the smell when someone flushed the toilet chased me off the boat.
thanks

Re: Crazy Question
Your friend needs to check the valve from the head to the holding tank. It is a non-return (of-course) and called a duck-bill valve. They fail quite often and I used to keep a few spares on my previous boats.

Re: Crazy Question
Check that the seacock is open and the strainer is clean on the head intake.
