Wrong engines. Most 50C buyers are looking for 3406 or 3412 Cats. The 12V71 boats are the least desirable. 200K is probably about right.

i belive that is the one with a locked up engine and on top of that it is a MTU.
Also the cost to repair will push 60000 perty hard the block is destroyed.

Different boat Tim. This one is a 12V71TI boat. The one with the bad MTU's will cost a lot more than 60K to fix. One engine is shot and needs to come out. The other is done and needs a major. 200K would be getting away cheap to get those MTU's up and running. Getting those big engines out of there is no small task. $150K plus your 3406 Cats and you'll be good to go.

    Tim,
Why are you not all over this 50C???
Two feet shorter than your 52C.
    Same accomodations as the 52C.
    Newer style.
    12V71's will outlast the 8V92's.
    Better performance.
Less $ than some of the 52C's I see for sale.
No tuna tower, but were you really going to climb way up there?
    Just curious.

This is a nice looking boat, and I would much rather have 71s than 92s for all the reasons we've endlessly discussed. Tim, you should go look at this boat. You even have a set of spare engines! Life is short.

I will give my feelings soon. I am not a detroit lover and the getting around in the engine roon probley works well for small man, At 245 it will be tuff for me but looking in to it let you know Tim

Didnt these 50's have a bunch of hull problems? I think the cockpit is pretty tight for a true offshore boat.

Somr body is going to be a year older soom!

I tried to reach Bruce Angel who works at hatteras now as head enginering job but was unable to reach him today, He may call tonight but i doubt as it is late but i will find out.
I keep looking at all the options out there and the new fuel cost and all related expences the 46hp is looking good to put the 3406 cats in. The cruse speed will be good and the fuel burn will be respectable. Kinda where i am heading unless i find a 52 that is a deal and cosmedics are exceptable.
