Got a buddy that left Catawba (NW Ohio) about 5 weeks ago in his 45 sailboat for Daytona Beach. He's doing the trip in small segments and lives in Ft. Wayne, IN. He's a seasoned boater but has never made the trip......been mostly in Lake Erie and some Daytona south to Key West....nothing in between.
His boat is currently at a marina at the base of one of the casino's in Atlantic City....not sure which one....maybe Golden Nugget? He called the owner of the marina and they weren't able to offer him much help because they have to help out all their seasonal dockers. So he is planning on loading up his truck with a generator, gas, tons of extra dock lines, etc and make the 12 hour drive tomorrow or Friday......
Looking for local info help for him.......Can any of you provide any recommendations on where he should tie it up the boat to best ride out Irene and her potential storm surge? Or would you recommend he pull the boat and shore it on the hard to ride out Irene? (Us Great Lakers haven't had to ride out a hurricane yet!) And if that's the case.....any recommendations on a marina to do it?
Thanks for any and all quick replies!!!

If he is at the Farley (old AC state marina) he should be ok if he wants to be real safe run up the Tuckahoe river just below him to Yanks boat yard.
