Same is true of Imron - wax doesn't hurt anything, it just gets yellow over time and, per Imron, just makes the paint look dull. Then you have to remove the wax for the paint to look like it should.

I guess I'm bad. I waxed mine 5 years ago and all I do is wash it in the spring with a car wash soap. It shines like new . I used Turtle wax ultra. Go figure. I think you people try to hard.

Re: Boat Wax -Imron
Listen guys, forgive me but this is brand new information to me. how can waxing a painted hull not do anything? I just had my hull waxed and it looks good. Is it just my mind playing tricks on me? Doesn't the wax help from water stains, bird dropping stains etc? Doesn't it help reflect the suns UV rays?
On painted cars people polish and wax all the time. what is different?

Uh... waxing when you don't have to would strike me as trying too hard. Doing work that is unnecessary and increases subsequent work seems to be the part that is "trying to hard."
I have 15 year old imron that has never seen wax. Every time it is washed I get the "did you just get that boat painted?" comments. Wax it if you want but both Imron and Awlgrip advise against it.Mike P

Re: Boat Wax -Imron
How much RejeX would I need for a 36'? I located a distributor here in Canada who sells 16 oz bottles for $32, which I know is likely twice the price you guys pay in the US. Not having used RejeX before, do they have different types of product for different applications ? Thanks, John

Re: Boat Wax -Imron
I waxed it for protection and to make it slip through the waves better. Or should I say the admiral waxed and buffed it. I don't do wax.

Re: Boat Wax -Imron
I used finesseit one year on my boat. After I waxed about half way down the hull, I stood back to see how it looked. I couldn't see any difference. The hull looked the same waxed or unwaxed. I quit and have never waxed it since.
