Went to Home Depot today to purchase phosphuric acid based product(driveway/concrete cleaner, etc) for H/E flush. Could not find any. None of HD. products I found were phosph. acid based. Where else can I find this or is another product suitable for the recirculating raw water flush?

Most any paint store should have Phos-pho-Ric.

Don't use muriatic (hydrochloric) acid. It's just volatile enough that the fumes could cause rust in the ER (guess how I know). Another good choice would be sulfamic acid but it's more expensive.

There are some new products for doing this that are more environmentally friendly and work well. PM me if you need specifics.

Check Lowes near you if HD doesn't have it. Our local HD does but they changed the brand recently. I use it for a number of things around here beyond cleaning heat exchangers so I usually have a gallon or two of it in the garage.

I found it at Home Depot in the paint department.

Re: raw water flush
went to a different Lowes, manager told me their store never carried ph acid. How about a product name for those who have made recent purchase? Did call a paint store that could 'order it in' for $30 per gallon-this sounds high. Thanks.
