I'm a bit "vote with your dollars" fan, but what business person, or individual for that matter, in this economy, can afford to simply refuse any form of payment that isn't drawn upon their choice of financial institution?

I can choose not to open accounts with these banks, I can encourage customers to pay cash for transactions in a number of ways, but I can't tell them I won't take their check because it's drawn on a bank I don't approve of, and survive.

I guess what I'm saying is I can take my business wherever I want, but to be a successful businessman, or even to survive in business, I can't tell you where to take yours.

Choosing to be abused changes the event that transpires from a criminal assault to masochism.

That's the choice, and then there is the stark reality - the path we are on will lead to another crash, this one worse than the last. Bad enough to cut off the government's borrowing capacity. Bad enough to threaten the government's survival, and possibly provoke a war. A real war, not the pipsqueak nonsense over in Afghanistan or Iraq.

These events were not accidents - they were willful and intentional acts. In 2004 The FBI warned of pernicious and outrageous mortgage fraud. By the middle of 2006 there were articles documenting that only one in ten applicants for 'stated income' loans actually made the money they claimed. This trash was put into securities and sold without disclosing to the buyers that the entire process to that point was laced with fraud.

In the end it comes down to a choice. We the people have the ability to put a stop to this. Right here, right now.

Or we can consent.

That's exactly right. I've already stopped doing bussiness with large banks that took TARP money and I'm not buying a GM or Chrysler car anytime soon either. But I can't very well tell a customer that I won't acept his wire transfer because he deals with a bank I don't aprove of. These banks simply should have been left to fail instead of being bailed out so I'm certainly not going to buddy up with the group that used my money to do that.

THE BIGGEST PROBLEM HERE IS THAT MOST OF THE NEWS MEDIA IS JUST IN THE TANK FOR OBAMA AND THE AVERAGE GUY DOESN'T REALLY KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. WE HAVE POWER BEYOND A VOTE LEARN WHAT'S GOING ON MAKE SURE IT'S ACURATE AND SPREAD IT AROUND. PRINT IT SPEAK IT DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO SPREAD THE WORD.

Well, this is pretty much what I'm trying to say, if not well. I can choose where I spend my own dollars, and what businesses I support, but I cannot choose the bank that my customers write their checks from, or who they choose to sponsor their VISA, without simply dying what is ultimately a meaningless death.

That is NOT consent, it's survival. What good is a quiet (financial), individual suicide to anyone? Perhaps if there were 72 virgins waiting for me.... Heck, even if I did have a few crates of gold buried in the back yard and could afford to tell clients their money wasn't good here because of the bank their check is drawn upon, it wouldn't change a thing. It takes numbers.

Discontent and organization is growing by the day. Just looking at what's happening in Mass. makes that clear, even if the guy doesn't ultimately win.

No individual is going to fix this by taking a stand that would result in having them labeled as a "kook", but as individuals, we have the power to set examples through our own choices, and to educate and influence the masses, or at least enough of the masses to actually make a difference.

Look, these banksters did not just make bad decisions. They ripped off the American Public to the tune of some $10 trillion all-in.

This is a PUNY piece of what they owe the people. They ought to be funding the ENTIRETY of the Health Care Bill.

This process has a recent new name called "reverse red-lining". The mortgage bankers were quite happy to bundle these steaming piles and sell it to Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac. Then came the Credit Default Swaps so everyone could go CYA. So that bunch kicked it off, and the investment bankers early in this thread made their contributions.

Guess who got stuck...you, and we will continue to be stuck. Let's hope the American people remember this come Nov!!!!!!! Vote the so and so's out!

Oh, it was all Clinton, Rubin and such? Really?

Who directed his justice department in 2004 to sue the states - for the purpose of stopping them from enforcing anti-predatory-lending laws?

This is NOT a partisan issue and for every "Democrat" abuse you can find I can cite a Republican one.

Don't be a tool of the RNC.

We will ONLY win when we force these institutions to either break up (e.g. reimpose Glass-Steagall) or we drive them into the ground through lack of business.

You seem to be forgetting about 8 years of doing more of the same. Don't forget about the initial bailout that we were told had to be done right away or else the world would come to an end. The one where the Republican presidential candidate stopped campaigning because this needed to be done right away.

They all are to blame, republicans and Democrats alike. We should come out and vote this Nov to get rid of all of them.

I don't much care about either party they both have they're problems and always have. But the last year is like nothing I've ever seen or ever want to see again. We're losing this country To back room deals favoritism and socialist ideology. I don't care what party they belong to we have to get rid of them.

Personally I'm done with discussions of ideology death panels or wether or not BO is a legal citizen. That stuff just goes round and round it can't be proven or dis proven and it convinces no one.

Spread the facts there are lots of them to work with and so many are un aware. THIS IS THE WAY TO CHANGE THE OPINIONS OF THINKING PEOPLE. FORGET ABOUT THE COOL AID DRINKERS THEY AREN'T IMPORTANT.
