OK folks, I bumped this to announce a price decrease. I recently dropped the local advertised price on the 41 to $69K and $95K on the 58. The offer of trades still stands, and I would consider owner financing for the right party.

OK Randy lets talk turkey! Send me pictures of the 58. How do I get it to New Bern, all the way down to Fla. then back up. Is the sick engine cured yet? Skip

Hey Skip, may as well address this in public. First, I don't have any more pictures of the 58 than what I've posted, but I'll come up with some more for you. Second, getting the 58 to New Bern would be no problem, even on one engine. In fact, I seriously considered taking it to Swan Point Marina and letting Paul and Chris have at it as opposed to bringing it home to Tennessee.

I've still not had anybody drop the pan on the starboard to see exactly what we're dealing with. The first guy who started working on the engine claimed it couldn't be done without raising the engine (which he never got around to), but others have told me it would be no problem. Given how the engine ran fine but was losing tons of oil through the exhaust, the general consensus has been that a fix may be as simple as a cylinder kit for that one hole. I really don't think there's any crank damage, nor does anyone I've talked to who is familiar with these engines. I can put you into touch with the last mechanic who looked at it and really knows his stuff (ask captddis).

I personally wouldn't hesitate for a minute to run that boat from Tennessee to NC as is. That trip I made with it last summer convinced me the port is solid, and if not for that damn blown oil line, the starboard would still be just as strong. If we make a deal, I'll bring the boat to you for expenses only.

One last note, being this is a 1510, it can be transported over land. There is a travel lift at the marina which is capable of loading it, and it's just 2 miles off I-24 west of Chattanooga.

Sorry for the bump, but I couldn't see letting the spammer have top billing. Looks bad for the forum.

    Did you sell the 58?

Not yet, but I'm not interested in giving it away. Not literally anyway.

So what is the current asking price?

    Re: 1965 41dc, 1974 58dc

I have a habit sometimes of not reading all the posts, you are asking $95K?
Its not been through what Bills went through has it?

I have pretty much made up my mind about which powerboat I want to buy and the Hatteras has won it, the 41' would be the smallest and of course a 50+ in fair shape under $!00K is a good price, most I see in "Bristol" are over $300K.

I am serious but not fully prepared to get on a plane and shake hands, maybe in a couple of months, possibly sooner, I am actually trying to buy this friggin business I have built and busted my buns for the last 13 years, I may get a sizable decisive chunk of it so it comes first, then the hole in the water.

If I was going to jump like a flying fish your boat might get hit, I like it, I don't care if the mains are siezed, I've been working on detroits since I was 12 years old, got quite a few of them in my back lot at work, heck I'm even licensed by Stewart & Stevenson of all people for the 71 series!

Nope, no periscope on this 58TC.

Given your experience with DD's, maybe we could come up with something to kill two birds with one stone here. I'm on vacation now but will follow up with a PM later.

Sparky I used a pic of the 58 on another forum that I practically live on lately 24/7 its: Free Republic.com and the thread is here:http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/ch...3/posts?page=8

I hope that does not bother you, I made a comment relating about how socialism would interfere with my American dream of owning a boat like yours, and believe it I would really try hard to get everything together to buy your boat.

However I will not try to haggle or offend you about my current pitiful offering, but being frank about it cannot hurt either, just in the last couple of weeks I have saved and accumulated $3,000 in cash just set aside and its growing every week, so if not your boat there will be somebody else in the future and I will have cash in hand and financing.

She is lovely, you need to get more pics of her inside and out here.
