Look at the ER on this '79 53C for sale in St Pete
While trapped in the office today, I was looking at Hatts for sale and this one stood out.
What did they do, raise the walkway up to the top of the stringers? It looks fantastic, but giving up a foot of headroom could create a headache.
And as long as you remember to check your bilge pumps, the smooth cover over that area would certainly make sneaking around the back a little easier.
I've used those PVC channels for wiring in other boats, and like 'em. If you hate zip ties as much as I, that's the way to go.

I would hazard a guess that the batteries are under there.

Two numbers caught my eye.
Fuel capacity: 1095 gal
Range: 262nm
Won't be spending much time offshore with those numbers.

Numbers are wrong. Range should be about same as mine 2GPM about 500 nm

Called Panduit and the covers start popping off after a while in the heat
Re: Look at the ER on this '79 53C for sale in St Pete
Scott, think it's more like 2.5 gals per mile making 24 knots, that's what we burned when we had the 8v92TI 's.
With the CAT's its about the same fuel burn per mile making 25.5 -26 knots.

Is that what was wrong with 'em?! I figured they just warped from popping the cover off and on a hundred times. After about a year of the cover laying on the side of the ER, I think I threw it away.

Btw, that's a really nice well kept updated 53c, just needs a pair of CAT c18's..........

Handsome boat and well kept, it looks like.
I didn't know that 53Cs were built with 8V-92TAs. This would not be my engine of choice in such a heavy boat. I thought they all had 12v-71TIs. Anyone know more about this?
